Owners Toby Hollinsgworth and Joel McCay want to bring their vision of an upscale ice creamery to downtown Oneonta, AL, so in the summer of 2023 they created a plan to do so.

The Meltdown was created out of a love for ice cream and sharing that love with people. So many of our best memories are centered around food, and ice cream is always high on that list. The goal was to create an ice cream shop that offers the absolute best premium ice cream, while providing an excellent experience and allowing The Meltdown to serve the wonderful people of our community and welcome visitors alike.
